PORTRAITS
Considered, narrative-driven portraiture for individuals,
publications, and commercial brands worldwide
Balancing Artistic Direction
with Natural Observation
Portraits sit at the intersection of observation and direction. As a London-based portrait photographer, I create editorial imagery for individuals, creatives, and professionals across the capital, the UK, and internationally.
Each session is approached with a balance of structure and flexibility, allowing space for both clarity and expression.
Working across both studio and location environments, I am commissioned by magazines, agencies, and private clients to produce portraits that communicate personality, presence, and intent.
The emphasis is on creating refined imagery that feels natural to the individual, ensuring every frame is composed and cohesive without appearing overworked.
Narrative Portraiture for Publications, Press, and Media
Editorial portraiture often forms part of a wider narrative, requiring a keen eye for storytelling.
These commissions frequently involve photographing founders, architects, authors, and public figures for national publications, trade magazines, or press features.
The process is inherently collaborative; direction is shaped by the specific brief while allowing room for subtle, spontaneous variation during the session.
Whether capturing the hero frame for a feature interview, a cover story, or a high-impact poster frame for video and digital media, the aim is to construct images that hold the viewer’s attention through a blend of simplicity and character.
Visual Storytelling for Artists, Designers, and Entrepreneurs
For creatives and entrepreneurs, a portrait is often the primary visual touchpoint for their audience.
My approach to personal branding is rooted in this understanding, providing a consistent and considered set of images for use across websites, press kits, and global professional platforms.
By tailoring the environment and tone to the individual’s specific craft, whether in an architect’s studio or a minimalist gallery space, we build a coherent visual identity.
This strategic approach ensures that your professional presence feels both current and authentic to your role within your industry.
Portraits for Advertising Campaigns and Corporate Branding
Beyond individual sessions, I work with agencies and businesses to provide high-calibre portraits for advertising campaigns, marketing materials, and broader corporate storytelling.
From growing SMEs to global organisations, the requirement for premium, high-production value imagery remains constant.
These sessions are often more structured, involving environmental portraits that incorporate office interiors or relevant locations to provide context.
The result is a set of versatile assets designed for everything from annual reports and LinkedIn profiles to large-scale advertising and press coverage.
Precision in Light,
Composition,
and Direction
I provide clear, measured direction throughout every session, focusing on natural posture and expression.
Recognising that many people find being photographed a challenge, I work to build on an individual's strengths rather than imposing a fixed style.
Lighting is central to the mood of every frame; setups are carefully designed to suit the subject, ranging from clean, minimal studio light to more atmospheric, cinematic location configurations.
The final post-production is refined and natural, ensuring a consistent, high-end finish across the entire set of delivered images.

Commissioning a Session:
Studio and Location Logistics
Portrait sessions are available both on location and in my permanent London studio, depending on the requirements of the brief.
Studio work offers a contained environment ideal for wardrobe changes and controlled lighting, while location shoots offer a fluid, contextual aesthetic.
For most individual commissions, images are selected on-site during the session to ensure immediate refinement.
If you are planning an editorial commission, an advertising shoot, or a set of branding portraits, please get in touch via the Contact Page to discuss your brief and intended usage.
